Q. I think my mother may need to go into a nursing home sometime in the future, what do I do?
A. The starting point is to speak with your mothers family doctor and discuss your concerns.

Q. Do I have to have private health insurance to become a resident in the home?
A. No, please refer to our fees and charges section.

Q. My father has Parkinson's disease but my mother is quite fit. If my father gets to the point where he requires nursing home care, do my parents have to split up?
A. Queen Victoria Home and many other homes in Tasmania caters for married couples. It is wise to join our waiting list as soon as possible.

Q. My mum does not really need anyone to look after her at this stage, but she is finding the house a bit much to cope with and likes the idea of the security offered by an independent living unit, where do we start?
A. Call the home at any time during office hours and make an appointment to come and have a cup of coffee and a chat with us
